FAQ

Can I check my age on a past or future date?
Yes. Change the “reference date” and your exact age, traditional age, and school grade are recalculated for that day. Enter the date of a document submission or ceremony to see your age on that day.
What is the difference between traditional age and exact age?
Exact age goes up by one each birthday and is what is commonly used in Japan today. Traditional age (kazoedoshi) counts you as 1 at birth and adds a year every New Year’s Day; it is used for events such as Shichi-Go-San and unlucky years (yakudoshi). This tool shows both at the same time.
Can I find out when my 10,000th day is?
Yes. The anniversary calendar below the results shows totals like 100, 1,000, and 10,000 days and milestone dates such as 10th and 20th anniversaries. Milestones that have passed are shown in gray.
Can I share my results?
Yes. Copy the share URL at the bottom of the page to get a link that opens the page with the same dates. The dates are only passed in the URL and are not stored on a server.
